Something I forgot to mention is that on Sunday I had to do level check on the ginganet (via an internet conferencing system thing) which was the first time I’ve ever been on the ginganet so it was quite cool. Expect halfway through the test there was an earthquake and there me looking at the other guy in strobe type effects on the other end asking him if he is ok. Interesting
Anyway, Wednesday they had me working in the book district of Tokyo. This is probably a mistake as my reaction is similar to that of Maggie and Millie (lord knows how they could afford all those books though) from R.O.D (for those of you who don’t know, it’s an anme about this sister detective agency that have two bookworms and the third “sister” who refuses to read” and they have to protect this woman. Ironically, the Brits are the badies in it!). Anyway needless to say I spent my lunch break gapping at all the lovely book knowing that I’m going to be there for the next month, once a week. I also got 4 frees, three of which were in a row so there me, in total peace (the jp staff was one another floor and it was just me there in the teacher’s room and the whole floor for that matter) practising my music. I also got the only kid in the whole school but he was very cute. My last lesson was a bit shaky, literally, we had a long earthquake, t went on for a couple of minuets.
Meet Christina after work for drinks and to discuss a holiday but it aint going to happen and she needs to save so I’ve got to rope someone else or hope I can go to Honk Kong in Nov. I’ll see what happens. Bit worried about Christina, she under a lot of pressure at the moment.
Thursday I went out to meet my friend Andrea. She had got me a load of second hand kimonos and obi from Nara and we went kimono shopping to get me my very own one. It was great fun. I saw lots of beautiful ones but there were either second hand or too expensive, darn. Tried to go shopping in Harajuku for new shoes for me but we seem to have very different taste in shoes. I tried on a beautiful purple velvet jacket but it was more then I was willing to pay but I will keep my eye for it in the sales.
Friday I was spent at home, downloading cheesy 80s music and lazing given it my last day off for two weeks (I was ask to do a shift swap on the thur as this guy was desperate and no one else could do it and I owe Christina a day from Rosh Hashanah. Went to shul, came home and lazed even more. Sigh, it a hard life!
Saturday, did a level check which wasn’t the best; I think I have put him too high, oh dear. Went to yet another leaving do, Mike’s. It as much smaller then Dean’s and the karaoke that this bar had had a very small selection of songs which was disappointing.
Sunday, Tera and I wanted lunch but I had a late break but my student didn’t show, the staff called the student and she had cancelled so we headed downstairs to the new restaurant and came back up two minuet before the bell for the next lesson. Had an lazy evening in.
Monday was long day at work, it dragged on a bit. My fears about my dodgy level check were confirmed, oh dear. Went home and the Lis and Pauline went out. Half an hour later I got a text telling me that they were in the izakiya and to come and join them. So I did. We had these cool looking cocktail and then headed to Watami to have some Sake. These two guys came over and joined us to talk to us in English. Bit of a weird guy and the other didn’t talk much at all and we got another bottle of Sake. Eventually the guys left and we had some more cocktail which were very strong. I left (about 1.30am) to leave the other two as I really needed to get to bed since I had a singing lesson in the morning. I ended up drinking two litres of water to avoid a hangover which worked although it meant I kept getting up to go to the bog in the night.
As a result of which, I was really tired this morning and kept flufflying up in my lesson which was a bummer coz I had been practising so hard this week, damn it! Note to self. Don’t not go drinking with housemate when you have a lesson the next day, not matter how much fun it is, grrrrrr!
Went through today a little sleepy and a bit tired. An early night for me methinks
